One Direction has premiered a brand new track online -- and it's all thanks to the fans of the popular group.

In order for the band to release the song, One Direction issued a challenge to their fans worldwide through a video message. E! Online reported that "the group promised to unlock a new song for fans if they achieved several social media goals across multiple platforms -- 40,000 Twitter retweets, 40,000 Facebook shares, 4,000 Instagram comments and 4,000 Tumblr reblogs."

Naturally, fans readily accepted the challenge, and you know what came next.

After fans reached the goal, 1D member Harry Styles tweeted, "If you pre ordered our new album FOUR you can download 'Ready to Run' now. We hope you like it and can't wait for you to hear the rest."

After "Steal My Girl," "Ready to Run" is the second track to be released from "Four," One Direction's upcoming fourth album, Billboard noted. The latest song could be just as huge as the group's previous track "Story of My Life" because of its folk-pop sound.

According to Billboard, "Ready to Run" "moves swiftly away from the hair-metal-lite vibe of lead single 'Steal My Girl' and comfortably settles back into Mumford territory." The catchy tune punctuated with "Whoa-ohs!" is also bound to make listeners sing along to the music.

One Direction, consisting of Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson, posted a photo on their band's Instagram account. The picture, captioned "Still rehearsing :)," is from a practice session for the group's performance at the American Music Awards. The awards night will be broadcasted live from Los Angeles' Nokia Theater on November 23, according to Billboard.

1D is also gearing up for their international "On the Road Again" tour in 2015. The North American leg of the concert tour will start on July 9 at the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California, E! Online noted.

"Four" Album Leaked

On the other hand, J-14 reported that a fan allegedly leaked on Vine nearly every song from "Four."

There is no strong proof that the recordings the fan made is indeed from One Direction. J-14 noted that the audio on the videos the fan posted is incredibly faint and in low quality. But she was entirely convinced that the songs are from 1D and even recounted her experience on her Twitter account.

The die-hard fan went to great lengths to record the songs, which involved knocking on random people's doors and sitting outside a room, J-14 added.

According to Gossip Cop, many of the group's fans claimed that the leak came from Brazil.

"Four" is scheduled to be released on November 17, E! Online reported. On October 16, One Direction announced on their website the official tracklist of the album. See below.
