MIT's Robot Cheetah Can Run, Jump
If a South Korean shipbuilding company has its way, it's workers could soon be wearing exoskeletons that would allow them to easily carry items as heavy as 200 pounds like they were bits of styrofoam. Daewoo Ship Building and Marine Engineering has been testing such suits at their Okpo-dong facility in the hopes that they will soon be able to put them into full production and have an entire fleet of super strong ship builders.
The Super Ball Bot can maneuver around the toughest terrain and collapse into small spaces, making it ideal for space exploration.
DARPA will test 17 robots to see if they can represent the future of first response disaster relief.
Like everyone else, you're probably looking forward to our robotic future - like Roombas to sweep your floors (and scrub your grills), Google cars to drive you where you want to go, and possibly a H.E.L.P.eR. to wash said Google car. So how about a robot that can pour you a beer, without spilling if you move your cup (and what if that robot could do lots of other party-related tasks)?
