The Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets are set to face each other on Tuesday night at the Staples Center, the Lakers home court in California.

Fans are asking what can be expected from the game between these two teams. Well, Hoops Habit discussed that the Rockets will use their previous frustrations like losing Chandler Parsons, not getting Carmelo Anthony and not being able to stand a chance at LeBron James as their motivation to perhaps get the game going.

Having Trevor Ariza on the team will help the Rockets attain a victory especially in terms of shooting.

On the other hand, the Lakers would be coming from a strong yet devastating previous season since star player Kobe Bryant missed 76 games because of an injury. According to Hoops Habit, it can be expected that Bryant is hungry for a win especially after his long absence from the games and he would not want to disappoint his team.

The game is an exciting one to watch especially that Dwight Howard is also looking to recover from their playoff exit last season. Howard formerly devastated the Lakers when he left in 2013 for the Houston. NBA.com said that the problems of the Lakers began soon after Howard left, though Bryant saw his departure as something positive for the team.

But Lakers coach Byron Scott told NBA.com that the fact that people has "written them off" will serve as the fuel to their desire to win it big this season.

"I'm going to use that to talk to our players about how people are viewing us as a basketball team. I love the fact that everybody is doubting us," he added.

Scott's team may probably make use of former Rocket Jeremy Lin's skills as a point guard after Steve Nash was declared out for the entire season because of a back injury. Lin said that he will try to do his best, but not build the game up and "make it any bigger than it is."

"The headline's Kobe vs. Dwight," he added.

The Rockets, for their part, said they are so much more determined to show what they got after a first-round loss against the Portland Trailblazers.

"Losing in the first round was disappointing for all of us and still hurts. We don't want to go through that again," Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said.

Definitely, the two teams are looking to improve on their performances this season especially that they were not able to both reach the NBA Finals game. It will be a chance for both of them to recover from their losses.
