Apple users with devices that support Touch ID are now able to access and secure their Dropbox documents with the aid of Apple's fingerprint sensor.

If you're one of those people who store sensitive documents and data on the popular online storage service, this additional security feature will protect your valuable content by way of your devices' fingerprint features, noted CNet

The feature is available on devices with the fingerprint hardware, namely, the iPhone 5S and higher as well as TouchID-able iPads which have been updated with the iOS 8 software.

As an added treat to those using the larger Apple smartphones, Dropbox has updated its software to support the larger screen display, a move Engadget believes will make iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users very happy.

The additional security measure comes a week after Dropbox confirmed that a hundreds of user accounts were compromised after their passwords were exposed.

The last major upgrade from Dropbox was made available last month during the launch of the new smartphone devices and the release of the iOS 8. Mac Rumors reports that the update "brought a new Notification Center widget, a new Share extension that allows files from other apps to be opened and saved, and the ability to manage shared folders in the app."

For those interested to make use of the updates, as in the past, Dropbox 3.5 is available for download for both the iPhone and iPad from the App Store and with a few setting tweaks, you can now maximize the Touch ID feature to reopen the application, shared Apple Insider.
