NBA officially announced that the Boston Celtics have given up guard Keith Bogans, along with two future conditional Sacramento second round picks, to the Cleveland Cavaliers. They will be traded in exchange for forwards Dwight Powell, Erik Murphy, Malcolm Thomas, John Lucas III and 2016 and 2017 second round picks from Cleveland.

NESN cited Marc Stein who announced via Twitter the then-unconfirmed transfer of Murphy, Lucas and Thomas from the Cavaliers to the Celtics. The addition of Powell was noted by Jeff Goodman.

The summative combination of Bogans' unguaranteed contract priced at $5.3 million for this season and $5.5 million for the next, along with the $10.5 million salary of Brendan Haywood for 2015 to 2016 approximately gives the Cavaliers over $16 million in unguaranteed salary, according to ESPN.

In a report by The News-Herald, 34-year-old Keith Bogans has averaged 6.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 11 NBA seasons. The outlet added that he might be used as a 'trade chip" for a team on budget, a backup at shooting guard or small forward. The player has teamed up with Orlando, Charlotte, Houston, Milwaukee, San Antonio, Chicago, Brooklyn and Boston.

Meanwhile, NBA listed the accomplishments of 6'11" forward Powell who is the 45th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He played for Stanford for four years and he was documented to have appeared in 136 games, scoring 10.8 points and 6.3 rebounds in 26.2 minutes per game on average.

Originally, 6'10" forward Murphy was picked by the Chicago Bulls with the 49th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. He was recorded to play for Chicago in 24 contests last season. He averaged 0.3 points and 0.3 rebounds in 2.6 minutes per game.

Out from San Diego State is 6'9" forward Thomas, who appeared in eight games for Utah and San Antonio at the 2013 to 2014 season. NBA recorded that he scored 1.9 points and 2.6 rebounds in 7.9 minutes on average per game.

Playing in 42 games for the Utah Jazz in 2013-2014 was 5'11" guard Lucas, who was out from Oklahoma State. His six-year NBA career let him play in 216 games with Houston, Chicago, Toronto and Utah. He scored 4.8 points and 1.4 assists in 12.2 minutes per game on average.

CBS Sports counted Celtics which currently have 14 other players on their roster. The outlet predicted that most might probably get waived.

The Celtics have waived guard Chris Babb and guard/forward Chris Johnson.
