The nude photos that hogged the news earlier this week were another reason for Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney to do that iconic "I'm not impressed" face.

Maroney claimed she was under 18 when the nude photos of her were taken, TMZ Sports said, explaining that she turned 18 only in December.

She took that proposition to court to launch an attack against porn sites that reposted the images, as done to many other celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence.

Lawyers from the Maroney camp issued a letter to Porn.com informing the site's operators "that McKayla was underage in several of the photos," TMZ Sports added. The letter also demanded that the photos be taken down, which the site immediately obeyed.

According to Complex, other porn sites followed suit, as reposting would constitute child pornography. BuzzFeed reported that Reddit moderators warned people that all photos of Maroney will be deleted.

According to the Daily Mail, the legal team claimed that the photos of Maroney were taken when she was underage, but the subject of the scandalous images tweeted that they were "fake" on Sept. 1.

"The fake photos of me are crazy!! was trying to rise above it all, and not give 'the creator' the time of day..," she said. She also attached a meme saying "You sir, need Jesus." That was similar to the move of former Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice on Twitter.

Among those who came in Maroney's support is Gold medal team fellow, Alexandra Raisman who, on Sept. 2, posted three tweets, related to the issue.

In one tweet, she said that the issue "is not a joke." In another, she said that the women involved in the scandal were violated.

Others stars affected by the scandal that broke out Sunday afternoon on "image-based bulletin board" 4chan are model Kate Upton and singer-actresses Ariana Grande and Lea Michelle. The incredibly personal photos and videos affected a slew of famous people.

The compilation of photos were reportedly obtained after months of massive hacking efforts, Business Insider said, posting a masterlist that allegedly includes Kim Kardashian and Avril Lavigne.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Apple has denied any security breach after 40 hours of investigation, responding to rumors that its iCloud and Find my iPhone were the sources of the images, Buzzfeed reported.
