With the Showtime series "Masters of Sex" growing bolder each season and gaining recognition at prestigious TV award giving bodies, some of its cast are thinking of having Hollywood veterans Susan Sarandon and Meryl Streep on board.

Allison Janney, who plays the character of the sexually naïve and unfulfilled wife Margaret Scully, thinks that she and Streep should get to play the roles of sex therapists in the series.

She even related it to Helen Hunt's portrayal of a sex surrogate for the movie "The Sessions," stated E! Online.

During the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, Janney earned recognition for her performance in the series - winning the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series award. Other stars of the show also received nominations.

Should Janney have it her way, it won't be the first time she'll work with the highly regarded Meryl Streep. The two starred together in the movie "The Hours," for which they were nominated for the Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture category at the SAG awards.

Another "Masters of Sex" cast member is also welcoming the idea of booking Susan Sarandon for the show. Lizzy Caplan who plays the role of the sexually uninhibited Virginia Johnson, is wishing to have Sarandon play the role of her mother.

During the BAFTA's party, Caplan shared how she finds the "Dead Man Walking" actress sexy and amazing. She even confessed of being a fan of Sarandon and called out, "Susan, be my mom!" reported E! Online.

Showtime announced weeks ago that "Ray Donovan" and "Masters of Sex" will be renewed for new seasons. The two shows will begin production during the early part of 2015 to feature 12 episodes each, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Showtime President David Nevins believe that the two shows are packed with complexities and characters interesting enough to offer television audience a more compelling form of entertainment than the others.

Both shows have rendered solid performance ratings for the network. "Ray Donovan" is a story that features an LA fixed played by Live Schreiber while "Masters of Sex" is about two sex researchers in the fifties era portrayed by Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan.

"Masters of Sex" earned five nods during the recent 2014 Emmy nominations.
