"Waka Waka" singer Shakira has confirmed that she is expecting baby number two with boyfriend Gerard Pique.

Latina wrote that the 37-year-old confirmed the joyous news with Cosmopolitan's Spanish version.

"Yes, it's the truth that I am pregnant," said the singer to the magazine.

This is great news as the Colombian has always wanted a large family. She shared with Latina: "If it weren't because of my music projects, I would be pregnant already," she told Latina during an earlier interview. "I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard-my own fútbol team."

While there is no confirmation whether they'll be having a second boy or their first girl, many outlets are indicating she is expecting baby boy number two. Shakira and footballer boyfriend Pique, 27, already has am 18-month-old son, Milan, born January 2013.

She responded to all well-wishers over Facebook and Twitter on Aug 28.

"Yes, we are expecting our second baby!! Thank you all for your well wishes!" said the star in both English and Spanish.

Rumors on the pregnancy first began when Shakira performed during the 2014 World Cup wearing an outfit that was seen to be more conservative than usual. Shakira also didn't do much of her trademark sexy belly dancing moves.

Before official news of the upcoming bundle of joy was announced, Shakira participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on Aug. 19 and looked to be trying to hide the first signs of a baby bump.

Wearing a loose black top and jean shorts, the "Hips Don't Lie" songstress shared her quick video of herself getting doused with ice cold water.

The lovebirds met four years ago when Pique appeared in Shakira's "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" music video.

Football has held a very special place in Shakira's heart. Aside from being a part of her childhood. She said, as quoted by Hello Magazine: "I will never forget that I met the love of my life at the World Cup. If it wasn't for the World Cup my son Milan would not be here."

"We already have what's essential, you know? We have a union, a love for each other, and a baby," Shakira said in Glam Belleza Latina's summer issue, recalled E! Online. "I think that those aspects of our relationship are already established, and marriage is not going to change them. But if I'm ever going to get married, he's the one."

Pique is a Spanish professional soccer player and plays for both the national team of Spain and plays FC Barcelona's center-back position.

Congratulations to the happy couple. Cheers to your growing family!
