LAPD officials have met with the family of one of the two men who died after confrontations with police recently. This followed a Tuesday demonstration as protesters took to the streets demanding justice after the deaths of Ezell Ford and Omar Abrego.

"I want my dad to get justice, and Ezell to get justice too cause it's not right," Omar Abrego Jr. told KTLA news.  Later, a community meeting was held along with Ford's family at Paradise Baptist Church with LAPD officials, including police Chief Charlie Beck who took questions.

According to the LAPD, a security hold was being put on the autopsy in Ezell Ford's shooting death. "The autopsy report has not been completed. We're going to put a temporary hold on it in order that we don't influence the witnesses," Beck was quoted as saying.

The Aug. 11 incident that led to Ford's death was allegedly caused when he struggled with police, authorities said. Family members however, said that Ford was following police orders and lying on the ground when he was shot to death.

However, police said that Ford tried to walk away from them when asked to stop, they said that Ford then turned and grabbed one of the police officers and that's when the two of them fell on the ground and started to struggle. During that confrontation, police said Ford tried to reach for the officer's gun. Ford was shot by two officers.

Obrego died about a week earlier than Ford on Aug. 2 when police said they tried to stop him for driving erratically and hitting a pedestrian. Police said he jumped out of his vehicle and tried to get away on foot, and when police caught up to him, witnesses said that police beat Obrego up for 10 minutes. Obrego reportedly had a large cut following the incident with police and was put into the hospital. He died 12 hours later.
