With the return of "Doctor Who" fast approaching, more details on the series are drawing fans' curiosity and excitement. The newest tidbit is brought to the audiences by writer and producer Steven Moffat.

The 52-year-old writer explained to SFX Magazine, "Peter will still be very much the Doctor. He has a tremendous ability with throwaway humour and a lot of it is around the fact that sometimes he is terribly rude." He continued, ''I think kids will think he is the rude Doctor. You might want to cuddle him but he really will resist.''

The Daily Mail UK reported that according to the BBC1 series insider, there is going to be some pretty big changes with the arrival of an older and supposedly "ruder" Time Lorde played by Peter Capaldi who will be replacing the Doctor, previously played by Matt Smith.

"The most interesting thing is what the change of Doctor does to Clara," he explained via the site. "Matt Smith's Doctor was ‘Look at me, I am cool because look at who I get to hang out with.' He was like a puppy waiting to roll over and have his stomach tickled."

Revealing a more unpredictable and uncontrollable character change, "Clara was the control freak who had the controllable Doctor. It was a stable relationship and they were a lovely couple. But now the Doctor grows his fangs back and she thinks, bloody hell, that is hard," continued Moffat.

Catch Capaldi is the 12th actor to play doctor on the show along with Clara played by Jenna Coleman. "Doctor Who" returns for it's eighth season run on Saturday, August 23 on BBC One with the premiere episode titled "Deep Breath."

BBC has unveiled the story synopsis of the premiere stating, "When the Doctor arrives in Victorian London he finds a dinosaur rampant in the Thames and a spate of deadly spontaneous combustions. Who is the new Doctor and will Clara's friendship survive as they embark on a terrifying mission into the heart of an alien conspiracy? The Doctor has changed. It's time you knew him."

While fans have been struggling with the long series hiatus, a full eight months between the 2013 Christmas Special "The Time of the Doctor" and the season premiere of the series' eighth season, the show will begin in less than two weeks!
