The FBI will be assisting the investigation into the shooting death of an 18-year-old African American man in Ferguson, Missouri. Mike Brown, according to witnesses, had his hands raised and was unarmed when police shot him multiple times, according to reports.

The night after the shooting, residents in the community lashed out in protest. Police said that the teen attacked an officer who was attempting to get out of his police vehicle. The officer involved in the attack will be named in a press conference on Tuesday, Aug. 12. The officer has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to reports.

What started out as a peaceful gathering to protest Brown's death on Sunday night, turned into a riot as protesters in the community began to throw bottles at cops and then destroyed vehicles and looted stores.
A total of 32 people were arrested in the riots, according to NBC News. The arrests were in connection with the looting of 12 stores in the area.
One of the stores was burned, according to police. Officers from 19 other jurisdictions responded to the rioting incident, with a total of 300 police working the scene. Two officers were reportedly injured after one was hit by a brick and the other's knee was hurt.

"The Bureau will take a lot of the information that we have developed already, they'll take that information, they may do their own interviews, they may look at the evidence themselves--it's a parallel or a concurrent investigation," said St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar.

In support of the people who continued to protest into Monday, but in more peaceful ways, the group "Anonymous" hacked the City of Ferguson's website, according to reports. The night before a Twitter account called "Operation Ferguson" encouraged residents to continue their protests.
