Classic fairy-tale "Beauty and The Beast" is about to make a comeback and according to insiders, two versions of live-action movies are in motion, one staring "Harry Potter"'s Emma Watson and the other, "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart.

The live-action was confirmed to be in the works by Warner Bros. with Guillermo Del Toro directing Emma Watson as Belle, reports MTV"It's a movie that you have to make in the next few years for Emma to be perfect for the part," said Del Toro as quoted by the online site. "I think she is the perfect character to do that movie."

However, the production has been delayed since and eventually, Del Toro has withdrawn from the film due to "other commitments" but will remain involved with the project, not only as screenwriter but as a producer as well, reported Deadline last month. However, Watson is still pegged as the WB's lead actress.

With the delays that Warner Bros. has been encountering, apparently they aren't the only one with "Beauty and the Beast" fever as Disney is planning it's own live action with director Bill Condon, who is allegedly interested in bringing his "Twilight" actress Kristen Stewart to lead as Belle.

"The process and the script for the movie are still in the beginning stages but as it fleshes out, Bill Condon has definitely thought of Kristen Stewart as a possible Belle," says a source to HollywoodLife.com exclusively.

The insider continues that Stewart is not 100% confirmed. "By the time they make the film, it might be 2015 or 2016 and they think she'll be busy and they might go after somebody younger. Disney's thoughts are, the big name for the film should be devoted to the Beast so Kristen has a 50/50 chance to be Belle."

If it does work out that Stewart becomes Belle, that'll make two Disney princesses that she's played, the first being the role of Snow White in "Snow White and the Huntsman."

With the ways the movies are progressing, both films will go head-to-head in 2015 or 2016. CinemaBlend does note that there are striking differences. Disney's version is going to be more of a musical while Warner Bros. is going a different way and doing the project as a period piece.

Nonetheless, it's inevitable that the two will be compared. Who do you think will make the better Princess Belle?
