The famous Tour de Fat of Colorado is like mixing up the elements of the Burning Man festival with a Bay to Breakers' run of San Francisco.

Then there's added beer and you got one heck of a party right in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Each year, this tiny college town comes fully alive as the streets are transformed into a bike festival with participants in wild costume designs. It is organized by the headquarters of the New Belgium Brewery (NBB).

History Behind The Name

The name Tour de Fat is based on the popular bike race tournament Tour de France mixed with the most in demand beer of NBB which is called as Fat Tire. During the unique occasion, the Fat Tire beers are served and all the proceeds from its sales are given to bicycled themed charities.

NBB does not just host the Tour de Fat in Colorado but also in other main cities all over US like Atlanta, Durham, Chicago, Nashville, Tempe, San Diego, Denver and a lot more.
