Mexico and Brazil both took a step closer toward the second round of the 2014 World Cup with an extraordinary 0-0 draw on their Group A matchup. 

With a rivalry as fierce as the one between Mexico and Brazil, it was right to expect that both teams would put up a battle. While Brazil was the stronger team, garnering eight shots against Mexico's four, Mexico held their own with the help of goalkeeper Memo Ochoa.

While Ochoa's controlled, spectacular performance helped him stand out as the man of the match, Neymar's expected brilliance turned the game from a simple rivalry into a riveting competition.

Both Mexico and Brazil are now poised to advance to the next round, which is quite a feat for Mexico, who was anticipated to be the underdog in the match.

After taking a great through pass from Bernard to get behind the Mexico defense during the 76th minute, Jo missed the shot, and his chance, wide right. 

4. Neymar's Free Kick Flicked

While Neymar's free kick was flicked on by Silva's chest in the 44th minute, Ochoa was up to the test with a quick reaction save. Ochoa's quick reactions would be seen time and time again during the matchup.

3. Ochoa's Denial of Neymar

Ochoa denied Neymar in the 69th minute, and Neymar takes the cross off his chest and volleys on frame, only to be denied again.

2. Neymar's Spectacular Header

During the 26th minute, Neymar's header off cross was met with a spectacular save by Mexico goalkeeper Memo Ochoa, in a bout of solid play by both contenders.

During the 86th minute, Memo Ochoa showed with an incredible save for Mexico. Neymar delivered a great free kick to an unmarked Thiago Silva for a free header at close range, and again Ochoa proved up to the test.
