Pau Gasol will become an unrestricted free agent this summer, and several teams are expected to woo the NBA All-Star forward, but he is not ruling out the possibility of re-signing with the Los Angeles Lakers this summer.

Gasol told the L.A. Times in a Sunday article that there is still a chance that he will continue wearing the purple and gold next season, but he insisted that it depends on what the team will do this offseason.

The Lakers will finish with the franchise's worst record in 54 years, which could be a factor when Gasol makes his free agency decision in the offseason.

Gasol previously said that money will not be a factor, reiterating his desire to play for a team that can strongly contend for a title.

"I think there's chances," Gasol said. "It depends what the conditions are going to be, and then I'll decide what's best. At this point in my career, I just have to be picky, put my personal feelings aside and look at the whole picture."

Previous reports indicated that Gasol will strongly consider staying for another season if the Lakers replace head coach Mike D'Antoni this summer. If not, Gasol will consider signing elsewhere.

Sources indicated that several teams, including the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Charlotte Bobcats, will make a strong push to sign the 33-year-old center.

The Memphis Grizzlies, the team where Gasol spent the first six seasons of his NBA career, could also enter the race to sign the four-time All-Star.

The Grizzlies will reportedly pursue Gasol if Zach Randolph, who could also become a free agent this summer, decides to sign elsewhere.

When asked about the possibility of returning to Memphis, Gasol admitted that it is very appealing, considering the fact that he will be teaming up with his younger brother, Marc.

"It's appealing," Gasol said in an ESPN interview. "We have a lot of fun always in the summers. But I don't know if it's going to be completely 100 percent up to me, because there's going to be a lot of teams that are going to be probably limited or conditioned to a trade, and the Lakers will probably have some say in that."
