If you're wondering how the other side will see MLB 14 The Show, then you'll want to check out this new trailer by GameSpot.

The video provides a side-by-side preview of how the game looks on both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4. Not surprisingly, the PS4 version, which will be released on May 6, has higher quality. The PS3 game was released on April 1.

The colors and graphics are crisper on the next-gen console. And though the PlayStation 3 game is an improvement from last year's game and doesn't seem to be lacking in the graphics department when viewed on its own, its shortcomings are obvious when compared with the PlayStation 4 version.

After all, the developers' goal is to continue improving, and the PlayStation 4, as the new console, is reaping the benefits.

"You can see the details up close," said Ramone Russell, designer at Sony San Diego. "Even your player's glove has improved texture. The lighting plays off it more realistically, and it actually looks like leather."

The game also features children and batboys for the first time, which is just another little detail that makes it more realistic and proves how much work has gone into the game.

Another improvement: there's now cross console saves, so if you did start off on the PlayStation 3, you could always upgrade to the PlayStation 4 at a later time. And with year-to-year saves, you'll also be able to work on the same franchise for years to come.
