Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman brought "Les Miserables" to the big screen, and now Aracely Arámbula will bring it to the small screen.

The telenovela will be titled "Los Miserables," and it seems the Victor Hugo novel will be getting quite the shakeup. There's no Fantine in Arámbula's future. She's going to be the protagonist. Her character will be a strong woman who faces many struggles and has to hide until she can prove her family's innocence, according to La Opinion. Her family is being followed, which makes her character more similar to Jean Valjean.

The book originally follows Valjean after he has served 19 years in prison. He is given a second chance at life, but later violates his parole. So he lives his life hiding from Inspector Javert.

There's not much information on the script yet, but with a book as meaty as "Les Miserables," there will be plenty of fodder for the telenovela.

Valentina Párraga will be writing the script for the show. She has previously worked on "La Patrona" and "La Reina Del Sur."

The story will also differ from the book because it will take place in a modern setting, so surely, if her family is in trouble for stealing, it will be for something other than taking a loaf of bread.

Arámbula is the only person to be confirmed so far, but auditions for the other parts will soon begin. The telenovela should start filming at the end of this year.
