Pau Gasol is expected to draw significant number of suitors this summer, but the All-Star center will reportedly consider re-signing with the Los Angeles Lakers next season.

Gasol, who will become an unrestricted free agent in July, said last weekend that he will consider staying with the Lakers, but he reiterated that he wants to sign with a team that could strongly contend for a title next season.

"My priority is [basketball]. I want to be on a team with real chances of winning the championship next season," Gasol told Marca.com. "I don't rule out staying in Los Angeles if the circumstances are appropriate."

Gasol has won two championships since moving to the Lakers in 2008 after spending six and a half seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, but the 33-year-old center wants to win more rings before he finally calls it quits.

Earlier this month, Gasol, who is averaging 17.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game this season, also said that he is keeping his options open, including staying in Los Angeles, but he pointed out that his decision will be based on the likelihood of winning another title, not financial factors.

The Lakers are nowhere near a serious title contender at this point, as they are set to miss the playoffs for the first time since the 2004-05 season. Superstar Kobe Bryant recently demanded drastic changes, asking the team's front office to make moves in the offseason to turn the Lakers into a title contender next season.

The Lakers could acquire a marquee player in the 2014 NBA Draft, but ESPN reported this week that they could end up trading their high lottery pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Bryant has made it no secret that he wants Gasol to return next season, but the Lakers could let the 13-year-veteran go if they end up acquiring PF Kevin Love from Minnesota this summer.
