On the latest episode of "The Mentalist," Jane and Fischer investigated a mysterious murder at an oil fracking site, and Rigsby and Van Pelt got pulled into an investigation.

In "Grey Water," Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) and Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti) arrive home with their baby daughter, and find that a masked man had broken into their home while they were gone. The masked man begins to shoot at them, but luckily Van Pelt has a pistol at the ready. She grabs her gun and scares him off.

Van Pelt and Rigsby are brought to the FBI headquarters in Texas, and are hired as consultants on the case to find out who is targeting ex-CBI members.

Fischer (Emily Swallow) then arrives to take Jane (Simon Baker) to an oil fracking site, where a man was found dead. They investigate to find out whether the murder was committed by an activist group or by the oil company itself. They then discover that the deceased man was suing the company.

Meanwhile, Rigsby and Cho (Tim Kang) investigate a suspect, only to find out the man is under heavy surveillance, and is working with a different section of the FBI.

Fischer and Jane discover that the head of an activist group has information from whistle-blowers about the oil company. They begin to believe that the oil company is behind the man's murder, considering the man had broken into the company's offices to look for a list of people whom the company paid off.

Yet, in the end, Jane uncovers the truth: the deceased man's friend killed him and blamed his death on the oil company.

A friend had helped the slain man break into the company's office, but the friend ended up stealing $100,000. The deceased man tried to stop his friend from taking the money, so the friend murdered him and put the blame on the oil company.

On the next episode, "White as the Driven Snow," "Jane must use his skills to rescue Grace after she's kidnapped by the killer hunter former CBI members. The prime suspect looks to have an airtight alibi and time is running out."

Watch the promo for "White as the Driven Snow," which airs Sunday, March 23 at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
