Marcos Maidana will look to do what 44 other boxers couldn't when he tries to hand Floyd Mayweather Jr. the first defeat of his boxing career.

Maidana recently vowed to become the first fighter to defeat Mayweather in their upcoming showdown on May 3 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, but Timothy Bradley thinks that defeating the reigning pound-for-pound king is a long shot.

In an interview with BoxingScene, Bradley said that a fighter must have a perfect night in order to defeat Mayweather, and he doesn't think Maidana is up to the task.

Bradley pointed out that Maidana has the tendency to get sloppy, which is a no-no in facing a top-caliber fighter like Mayweather, saying that he can't see Maidana touching the undefeated champion.

"When you get there with Floyd you can't be sloppy, and there are times when Maidana gets sloppy," Bradley said. "Floyd is going to make you pay. He's so smart. He reads you and he's like 10 steps ahead of you. There's no way. There's no way Maidana gonna touch Floyd Mayweather."

When asked which fighter he believes has a good chance of defeating Mayweather—whom he called the "Michael Jordan of Boxing"—Bradley said that it could be 168-pound champion Andre Ward.

"If they fought at a lower weight, that fight would be like a chess match," Bradley said of a bout between Mayweather and Ward. "Andre Ward is like Kobe. You got Jordan, you got Kobe and people are all like 'who is better.' It depends on how you rank it. Who's got more rings? Well of course Mayweather got more rings, but Andre Ward is right there with him."

Bradley, who is currently preparing for his upcoming showdown with Manny Pacquiao on April 12 in Las Vegas, previously expressed interest in going up against Mayweather.

The undefeated welterweight champion said that he is still very open to facing Mayweather, but he knows that it could be a long shot at this point, considering the fact that he is under Top Rank Promotions. Mayweather previously said that he is not interested in doing business with Top Rank boss Bob Arum.

"If he wanted to fight me, he could fight me, no problem," Bradley stressed. "But if he's not willing to work with my people, then it's not going to happen."
