Milan often suffers in the fashion month lineup, but it made sure it didn't go unnoticed this season. Here's what you might have missed but should definitely check out:

A circular runway surrounded a pool of water at Roberto Cavalli's fall show, which seemed to be setting up serene, relaxing scene. As models stepped onto the runway, flames shot up in the air making for an exciting, albeit toasty, show. According to Elle, some of the showgoers said it felt like a "fire hazard," and the fire only grew bigger as the show went on.

And if you can believe it, there was still more fire to be had. Philipp Plein also lit up the catwalk. The German designer is used to staging elaborate shows, such as using only black models one season or having celebrities front the campaigns. This season there were fire explosions in a collection that was inspired by Dallas Cowboy boots, hats and big belts also filled the runways, but perhaps the biggest moment was when Naomi Campbell appeared. The mostly retired model only does a few select shows each season, and this time around she chose to walk for Plein.

Dolce & Gabbana's fall 2013 collection was the second-most featured on magazine covers. The brand is clearly going for No. 1 with its fall 2014 pieces. Dolce & Gabbana went medieval chic. The models were knights and warriors with armored dresses and bejeweled hoods to create what is the most chic army. This doesn't have a place in everyday life, unless of course you are participating in a live action role playing game and have a lot of money to drop, but it will work wonderfully on magazines and the red carpet. The good news is that Dolce & Gabbana says flats are in for next fall, so at least it's a little accessible.
