Great Britain's top welterweight Amir Khan has apparently had enough of Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s theatrics. The Briton recently called the undefeated Grand Rapids native a cherry-picking fighter during an interview.

Khan, who was reportedly dumped by Mayweather's camp in favor of Argentine slugger Marcos Maidana for Money May's May 3 event at MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, did not mince any words, saying that Mayweather is a fighter that picks easier foes.

The two-time junior welterweight champion said Mayweather hasn't been the same fighter he used to be four years ago, and that could be the main reason why his camp wanted flat-footed opponents such as Canelo Alvarez, Robert Guerrero and possibly Maidana.

"People say I have no chance and I don't deserve to be in the ring with Floyd," Khan told The National via Boxing Scene. "Why not? Floyd is not the same fighter as he was three or four years ago. That's why he picks slow fighters, because he doesn't have the same movement as he used to."

"If you look at his last three or four fights ... all of them are slow, with no footwork, one-dimensional fighters. He cherry picks them, to make himself look good. I'm fast. I'm quick. I have an awkward footwork. Styles make fights, and I will show him style," he added.

Mayweather vs. Maidana In the Works?

Maidana's manager has reportedly already met with Mayweather's representative to iron out the details for their upcoming unification welterweight title showdown on May 3.

Mayweather, the current WBC welterweight champion, is apparently intrigued with Maidana's brawling skills following the Argentinian boxer's huge upset against pound-for-pound star and Mayweather protégé Adrien Broner in December.

Universally recognized as boxing's top fighter, Mayweather has been keeping everyone in the boxing community guessing for the past few weeks. Maidana and Khan were pitted against each other in a poll on Mayweather's website, with the winner gaining the title shot.

Khan used his social media appeal to convince his fans to vote for him, but his victory over Maidana in the poll appears to be irrelevant now, with Mayweather leaning towards a slugfest with Maidana.
