The Phoenix Suns have been one of the most surprising teams this season as they are on pace to make the NBA playoffs despite not being named as one of the contenders heading into the season.

The Suns are currently sixth in the Western Conference with their 30-20 record, but reports indicated that the team is still not content with their current lineup, creating speculation that they will make a big move heading into the February deadline.

Basketball Insiders noted that the Suns are determined to add an All-Star frontcourt player to improve their chances of going deep in the playoffs. Sources said that the Suns have Carlos Boozer, Josh Smith, Larry Sanders, Omer Asik, Anderson Varejao, and Spencer Hawes on their wish list.

Trading for Boozer could be the most likely option for the Suns since the Chicago Bulls are reportedly willing to become sellers before the deadline.

Boozer is also not on good terms with their front office executives after the former All-Star voiced displeasure with the lack of opportunity to play in crucial parts of the game.

Bulls general manager Gar Forman admitted that he was disappointed with Boozer's comments about coach Tom Thibodeau's decision to go with Taj Gibson in crucial parts of the game.

"I'm disappointed that Carlos didn't keep that in-house," Forman said in a statement via CSN Chicago. "I think we've seen Tom does a terrific job managing guys' roles, managing their minutes. In that situation, Taj has played very, very well."

Aside from Boozer, the chances of acquiring Asik are also high. The Rockets have yet to decide what they intend to do with Asik before the deadline, but league executives are convinced that the disgruntled center will be moved in the coming weeks.

The Suns have the assets to entice the Rockets to trade Asik to them before the deadline. Phoenix could have as much as four first-round picks in the highly-anticipated 2014 NBA Draft.

To make the deal work, the Suns will likely package Emeka Okafor's expiring contract and a draft pick in exchange for the 27-year-old Rockets center.

If the Suns fail to land either Boozer or Asik, they also have a good chance to nab Smith, Sanders, Varejao, or Hawes because all of them are expected to be shopped by their respective teams before the Feb. 20 deadline.
