The Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls are considered as ideal trade destinations for backup point guard Jeremy Lin, who has been an integral piece of the Houston Rockets' success lately.

With the trade deadline just around the corner, the 25-year-old Lin could be one of several players who could pack their bags and suit up for another ball club after Feb. 20.

The former Harvard University star has been linked to a number of trade scenarios for the past few months, but the Rockets front office is still reluctant to part ways with the team's most productive bench player this late in the trading period. However, there are still many basketball insiders believing Lin will be eventually moved on or before the trade deadline, especially if he continues to put up solid numbers.

Lin averaged 16 points, 6.2 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 33 minute of action over his last five games. His hot streak started in the Rockets' 97-90 win over the San Antonio Spurs, where he recorded 18 points and 8 assists in 44 minutes. Lin followed it up with an 18-point, 7-rebound, 7-assist performance against the Dallas Mavericks before pulling off his first triple double game (15 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds) against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Lakers, Bulls Looking For Service of Lin

The Lakers and the Bulls have repeatedly been mentioned as potential trade partners for the Rockets in a deal involving Lin. International Business Times correspondent Greg Price discussed the likelihood of Lin landing in Chiago or L.A. in his latest article, pointing out that two big market ball clubs look ready make a run at Lin to address their scoring and backcourt depth needs.

"Two teams in dire need of both scoring and more backcourt depth are the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls, who have coincidentally been linked to numerous trade rumors all season," Price reported.

The Lakers, which saw Steve Nash re-injuring his leg again on Sunday against the Chicago Bulls, could pull off a trade to re-unite Lin and head coach Mike D'Antoni. The Lakers have been shopping center Chris Kaman for quite some time, and including him in a package with Jordan Farmer might intrigue the Rockets front office.

Meanwhile, the Bulls are also looking to add some scoring punch in the backcourt in the wake of another Derrick Rose injury. Kirk Hinrich, who has been a subject of trade rumors for the past few months, could serve as a bait for the Bulls to acquire Lin before deadline.
