The Houston Rockets are expected to continue shopping Omer Asik before the trade deadline, and reports on Wednesday suggested that the Milwaukee Bucks are a potential landing spot for the disgruntled center.

Basketball Insiders reported that the Rockets are very interested in acquiring Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova, who could be dealt by Milwaukee in the coming weeks.

Sources said that the Rockets have been eyeing Ilyasova all-season long since they are looking for a stretch power forward, who can space the floor for superstar center Dwight Howard.

Ilyasova, who was slowed down by injuries earlier in the season, has been inconsistent since returning from an ankle injury, but the Rockets still view him as a good fit to their current roster. The 26-year-old forward is averaging 10.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game this season.

An Asik-for-Ilyasova trade could work well for both teams, but it remains to be seen whether or not the Bucks are willing to take on Asik's "poison pill" contract, which will see him earn $15 million in the final year of his contract next season as part of the back-loaded deal he signed before the 2012-13 season.

"There has been talk all season that Houston has eyes for forward Ersan Ilyasova. His numbers on the season have been less than stellar and he is owed a ton of money. It's unclear if the Bucks would take on one of Houston's ugly cash contracts in order to get out from under Ilyasova but that's the one to really watch. Milwaukee seems open for business," Basketball Insiders noted.

Sources also added that teams who are intrigued about the possibility of acquiring Asik want to see the current condition of the 27-year-old center.

Asik, who is averaging 4.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season, has not played since Dec. 2. The Rockets indicated that the fourth-year center is dealing with thigh injury, but it is widely believed that his absence is due to his trade request.

A recent report indicated that Asik could return to practice and play again starting next week, which could give interested teams the opportunity to gauge the current shape and condition of the Turkish center.
