Juan Manuel Marquez will be an interested observer when his former opponents Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley lock horns again on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Marquez, who was vocal about his intention to face Bradley again before the undefeated boxer finalized his rematch with Pacquiao, believes that his Filipino nemesis should be considered as the favorite to win in their second showdown.

The 40-year-old Mexican pointed out that Bradley lost in their first bout despite being awarded a controversial split-decision victory. Marquez said that for Bradley to win, the reigning WBO welterweight champion should change his fight plan against Pacquiao.

"First I want to say that it is an important, interesting fight, because of what happened in the first. In that fight the decision was different from what happened in the ring, and I think Bradley should change his strategy because it did not work from the first fight," Marquez told BoxingScene.

On the other hand, the former four-division champion said that Pacquiao could just fight the way he did during their first match up to merit a victory.

Marquez insisted that barring another controversial decision, Pacquiao should come out victorious in their rematch, but he also added that Bradley could make the fight interesting if he can make the necessary adjustments.

"Pacquiao could fight the same, but it is Bradley who needs to make adjustments. If judges do what needs to be done, Pacquiao should win. If Bradley makes the adjustments, it's going to be a very good fight," Marquez said.

Pacquiao vs Marquez 5 Still Possible?

Meanwhile, fight fans who are hoping to see Marquez and Pacquiao square off for the fifth time in their respective careers could get good news soon.

Marquez recently turned down the challenge of WBO light welterweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov, saying that he will gain nothing in facing the Russian champion because he wants to win a fifth title.

And if Pacquiao manages to defeat Bradley in their upcoming collision, Marquez will have that chance to grab the fifth title that he is longing for by agreeing to a fifth showdown with the former pound-for-pound king.

Marquez turned down offers to face Pacquiao again after scoring a stunning sixth-round knockout win over his longtime Filipino rival in their fourth showdown in December 2012.
