In anticipation of Metal Gear Solid 5, the next installment of the critically-acclaimed series, developer Konami and series creator Hideo Kojima are releasing "Ground Zeroes," a prequel DLC chapter for the game's main portion. Kojima is so excited for the new game, he's released a video of himself playing Ground Zeroes in a unique way that also shows off the unique features of the PlayStation 4 version of the game.

In a Twitter message, Kojima showed himself using the PlayStation Vita handheld and the PlayStation 4's Remote Play ability to play Ground Zeroes outside

"This is not "TRANSFARRING" but remote play. By using PS4 as family cloud environment, you can play it outside. Finally!" Kojima captioned the photo.

"Transfarring" is a unique term coined by Kojima to describe transferring saved game data from consoles to handheld platforms. This feature was used in other Metal gear Solid games such as Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. This is different from Remote Play, which allows users stream games being played on the PlayStation 4 to the Vita, freeing up the television for other tasks. Most PlayStation 4 games can use Remote Play in this way, and now it looks as though Ground Zeroes will also have this feature.

Ground Zeroes will be available not just on the PlayStation 4, but on the PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 as well. The game will serve as an introduction for the mechanics found in Metal gear Solid 5, specifically the open world that will be included in the game. While previous Metal Gear Solid games were fairly linear, Metal Gear Solid 5 will be more open. However, Ground Zeroes is only one mission, so players will not be able to fully enjoy the open world of the main portion of Metal gear Solid 5.

Ground Zeroes will be released on March 18, and the price will differ depending on the console. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will cost $29.99. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will be cheaper at $19.99. Considering that the PlayStation 4 version of the game will have Remote Play, it may be worthwhile for fans to spend a little extra money for the next-gen versions of the prologue.

Look out for more news right here about Metal Gear Solid 5 as Ground Zeroes is released later in 2014.
