The original "Call of Duty: Black Ops" game might have backwards compatibility with the Xbox One sooner than expected.

According to a report from Segment Next, the first "Call of Duty" game, which launched in 2010, will have backwards compatibility for the console in February. Note, however, that this is speculation at the moment and Microsoft is yet to issue an official statement.

Microsoft recently released 10 Xbox 360 games for backwards compatibility. They are listed below, as reported by Segment Next.

  • "Aegis Wing"
  • "Age of Booty"
  • "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive"
  • "Jeremy McGrath's Offroad"
  • "Sam & Max Save the World"
  • "Skullgirls"
  • "Small Arms"
  • "Soul Calibur"
  • "Space Giraffe"
  • "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings"

Microsoft also confirmed that it will unveil new games into the backwards compatibility listings "as they become available," instead of on a pre-determined monthly release date, GameSpot reported.

The new Xbox One Experience update that was rolled out in November featured backwards compatibility support alongside an initial lineup of 104 games and other new features, the news outlet wrote. 16 new games were added in December.

Microsoft management announced in past interviews that they intend to boost Xbox One console sales through backwards compatibility. However, the effect of this feature in this department "remains to be seen," GameSpot noted.

'Call of Duty: Black Ops III'

Activision recently unveiled a short teaser trailer featuring "Skyjacked," one of the upcoming multiplayer maps included with the "Awakening" expansion of "Call of Duty: Black Ops III." Watch it below.

"Skyjacked" is a re-imagination of the "Hijacked" map of "Call of Duty: Black Ops II," according to a separate report from GameSpot. The latter's map was set on a high-end yacht, while "Skyjacked" takes place aboard a futuristic flying ship.

New Xbox One Update -- Features & Improvements

Microsoft's first Xbox One update will bring back an important feature and several new additions.

According to the Verge, party chat details will make a comeback as well as a new Gamerscore leaderboard option. The leaderboard will allow users to compare their Gamerscores to their Xbox Live friends' stats. The option will also emphasize who has the biggest Gamerscore growth over a 30-day period.

Microsoft made some changes to its home and pinned sections in the Xbox One dashboard, the news outlet noted. Users can now reorganize individual pins, while pinned items are now accessible even though you are offline.

Other minor improvements include the activity feed as well as game hubs, which are updated to easily view who's broadcasting on Twitch, the Verge added. Users can also now hide games from the ready-to-install lineup.
