After announcing the wrong Miss Universe 2015 winner last month, TV host Steve Harvey had the chance to interview Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez on his own television show, which ended up being both emotional and funny.

In the video below, Gutierrez was seen hugging Harvey after she was introduced, with her telling the comedian that she was about to cry.

The host, for his part, apologized sincerely to Miss Colombia saying "I am so sorry."

It can be remembered that Harvey mistakenly announced Miss Colombia as Miss Universe 2015 when it was Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach who won the crown.

He continued with his remorse, and became really emotional.

"No matter how tough that was for me. I cannot begin to imagine what it was like. I felt horrible about it. I am beyond sorry for what happened that night," Harvey added while he tried to restrain himself from crying.

E!Online said that Harvey also asked the beauty queen about her feelings on how he handled the situation.

Instead of a serious answer, Gutierrez blurted out a joke in response.

"You have to learn how to read cards because it was on the card. You wanted me to win," Gutierrez told Harvey, who looked relieved with the answer.

The host replied with a "Yes!," saying that he would want to leave it at that.

But Miss Colombia was not yet finished with her answer, as she explained that she was actually laughing when Harvey was correcting himself. She thought that he was about to make a joke.

Harvey also stressed that Gutierrez was really the one person he wanted to talk to after the mistake.

"I cast you into a spotlight or place that I never intended to, that I would not want to happen to anybody," the host was quoted by US Magazine as saying during his daytime talk show.

According to the New York Post, Harvey also discussed how hard it was for him to deal with what seemed to be the biggest mistake in his entire career as a host.

He explained that he had sleepless nights after the Miss Universe competition, but noted that his wife has been very supportive, and kept on telling him that he did the right thing.

On the issue of the wrong announcement being a mere publicity stunt, Harvey said that he would never want to subject himself to ridicule and his family to death threats.

"People don't understand the damage of social media...[I've had] death threats against my family, I can't let my kids go anywhere. That's very difficult," he explained.

Would you forgive Steve Harvey for announcing the Miss Universe winner?
