German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has launched a collection with Brazilian chain Riachuelo, which will feature his pet cats.

Fashion Forward reported that Lagerfeld created 75 items for the fashion collection including clothes and accessories, which will be available in Riachuelo stores starting in April.

"Brazil is fun, full of energy and a country of the future. The country can open up to the world. He has a lot to offer," the designer was quoted by the same report as saying.

In addition, Vogue Brasil mentioned that the items will cost from $49.90 to $399.90. It includes mobile cases, bags, T-shirts and even overall jerseys.

Riachuelo marketing manager Marcella Kanner said that they decided to tie up with Lagerfeld for this collection because he is one of the best in the world.

"Karl Lagerfeld is one of the most important names in world fashion, a creative genius who thinks ahead of his time and who knows what women will want to use, long before she knew," Kanner told Vogue Brazil.

Meanwhile, brand CEO Pier Paolo Righi highlighted that Brazil has a lot of people who have a great interest in fashion, and are passionate on the art that designers, like Largerfeld, make.

His masterpieces will now be tied up to the department store company that reportedly has about one million clients daily, and has registered 23 million individuals on its credit card system.

It was also noted by Fashion Forward that this is not the first time that the German designer will collaborate with a Brazilian company.

Lagerfeld was also given the chance to make shoes for the brand Melissa. Three years ago, he also attended the Little Black Jacket Chanel exhibit in Sao Paulo.

"It was great working with Melissa staff. We would do just a collection and we ended up doing a lot and it was interesting and enjoyable as a collaboration. No one else in the world has that technique they have, " Lagerfeld noted.

But despite his recent success on his industry, the designer is also being investigated for tax evasion allegations in France, as per Forbes.

Lagerfeld is accused of not paying more than $21.7 million in taxes, and using a chain of companies as channels in tax-favored countries like the United States, Ireland and the British Virgin Islands.

The New York Times reported that Lagerfeld's spokesperson, Caroline Lebar, has expressed that the designer did not wish to evade tax laws of the said country.

She added that the designer has already sought the help of his financial advisers to solve the issue.
