New perks are up for members of Amazon Prime.

Beginning Wednesday, all Amazon Prime members will get 20 percent off any new video games for up to two weeks after their respective release dates, as well as any pre-ordered games, the retailer's website announced.

The discount will be applied automatically at checkout, the website added. The offer, which is only valid when shipped or sold by Amazon, will be extended to all pre-existing Prime member pre-orders.

The physical video games offered in Amazon's discount include titles for consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which usually sell for around $60, Tech Insider wrote. This means that with the price cut, users should only have to pay about $48 to $50 to avail the games.

Amazon's discount also applies to Collector's Editions, which offer other bonuses for fans and can retail somewhere between $80 and $200, the news outlet noted. The more expensive the Collector's Edition is, the more money you can save.

According to Tech Insider, Amazon Prime is the retailer's most significant product, given that it bundles plenty of the company's services together and offers occasional discounts on Amazon products. There's also access to the company's huge multimedia library, and free two-day shipping on numerous products.

It should be noted that Best Buy also rolled out a similar deal, Gamers Club Unlocked, with a lower price of entry. Best Buy's program offers the same 20 percent discount alongside other perks for $30 every two years. Amazon Prime, on the other hand, costs $99 each year.

However, Amazon Prime comes with a bunch of other non-gaming perks, such as free two-day shipping access to Amazon's streaming movie and TV catalog, among others, Time wrote.

Amazon Prime also offers Prime Photos, a secure way to store more photos in the cloud, and Prime Music, which rivals Spotify when it comes to streaming thousands of songs, PC Advisor reported. If you like to be ahead in new releases, there's the Prime Early Access feature, which gives you 30-minute early access to Amazon's Lightning Deals to make sure that you get to check out new products first.

In addition, there's the Kindle Owners' Lending Library, which allows you to borrow a book per month for free, and a book from the Kindle First picks, PC Advisor wrote. Amazon Pantry is one more offer that provides access to purchasing everyday essentials in a virtual box.
