Nokia is getting back in the smartphone game with a new device that is called the Nokia Lumia 850 'Honjo.' The upcoming phone is rumored to run on Windows Mobile 10.

Tech Times reports that the upcoming phone is codenamed the Nokia Lumia 'Honjo' and will fall under the midranger category. It is expected to be launched as a replacement for the Lumia 830. Based on the leaks that were released, the phone's designs show that the Lumia 850 seems to stray away from the Lumia 830 sharp corners. Instead, the Lumia 850 seems to sport more rounded corners that remind Nokia fans of the new Lumia 950 model.

The Lumia 850 doesn't appear to have any hardware buttons on the front. This suggests that all navigation will be done entirely on-screen, much like the company's top-tier Lumias.

Earlier rumors from the website have pointed out that the handset will feature a 5-inch HD display, much like most smartphones of today. The website also said that the Lumia 850 will be running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, with 1 GB of RAM, and a 10-megapixel main camera that has PureView technology.

The latest rumors also say that the Lumia 850 'Honjo' will boast of a 5.7-inch full HD screen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor. These rumors would sound more plausible and befitting of an upper-midrange phone.

Nokia seems to be getting back on track in the smartphone game and it is making up for its past pitfalls. Nokia is also rumored to be releasing the Nokia C1 next year, which will reportedly be released in Windows 10 Mobile and Android 6.0 Marshmallow variants. Nokia is getting back in the game of the smartphone wars and hopes to directly compete with other rivals such as Sony, Apple and Motorola, who are also releasing phones of the same size variant. Phones with less than 5 inch screen size are far from a dying breed as the market still seems to be in relatively high demand for phones of these screen sizes.

GSM Arena also notes the Lumia 850's design, which has a gold color scheme. The color is used on the frame and buttons, as well as the Microsoft logo on the back part of the phone. This is reportedly the slimmest phone Nokia has released thus far.

There are no official release dates for the Nokia Lumia 850 as of yet, but it is expected to be released early next year, should the rumors be believed.
