"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" continues to be the talk of town with award-winning filmmaker, Steven Spielberg, tossing his own words into the mix.

In an interview with RTL as translated by Slash Film, Spielberg revealed why he never directed any "Star Wars" movie for his good friend, George Lucas.

"I'm a true fan of Star Wars, but I have always felt it was not in my stars to ever direct one. But it was in my stars to admire and attend and see each one numerous times," he explained in French.

After seeing the film three times since the final cut was done, the "Indiana Jones" director has made an even bolder statement about it, saying: "I think this new Star Wars could be the biggest movie ever."

While these certainly are big words from one big name in the film industry, We Got This Covered seem skeptical at the weight of the statement, noting that as Spielberg had said, he is already a fan of the intergalactic saga.

"Given Spielberg's longstanding affiliation with the Star Wars universe, it's worth taking this quote with a fine grain of salt. After all, the director sung the praise of both The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith prior to their respective releases, so perhaps it's best hedging our bets before weighing up 'The Force Awakens' final box office haul," the outlet explained.

Despite this, the franchise's history of breaking box office records appears to be repeating itself as Screen Crush reported how the upcoming December 2015 flick has already made some $50 million before it even opened.

According to the November 20 report, "The Force Awakens" earned the hefty amount through advanced ticket sales, an achievement that it dubbed as "of an entirely different caliber."

In fact, the Daily Mail UK believes that the numbers from Fandango prove the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is indeed as big of a movie as it appears to be by taking the title of the biggest pre-selling franchise which was previously recorded by "The Hunger Games."

The outlet also noted how most cinemas tried to cope with the demand by dedicating all of their screens to the movie on its December 17 opening.

Meanwhile, Variety revealed that almost every Imax screening all over the U.S. has been booked for "The Force Awakens" with tickets already sold out.

This definitely is good news for Lucasfilm and Disney as they have already recouped more than a quarter of their $200 million expenses for the flick's production.
