Pablo Rabe's second feature project is set to be pitched at Ventana Sur's Beyond the Window mini-mart this week in Buenos Aires.

The film, "Intra," will be shown to a select group of genre industry players willing to discover new materials with potential. Beyond the Window will take place from Nov. 30 to Dec, 4, Variety reported. Other genre pic projects to be featured are "Lamiae," "Pinilla and His Terrifying Hallucinations 3D," and "The Animal Race."

"Intra," which promises a "neuro horror fantasy" theme, is being developed at Rabe and Juliana Schwindt's production banner, Mas Ruido Cine Digital, according to another report from Variety. The project tells the story of a religious sect controlled by a young preacher who is covered by scars and conducts his sermons in a small industrial city, which is ravaged by robberies, the disappearances of citizens, and a massive flood that results to social crisis.

"'Intra' is a psycho-thriller set in an apocalyptic climate, with elements of psychological and biological horror, noir, and the subgenre of movies about religious worship working as a medical mystery," Rabe explained to Variety. "It combines two complementary universes -the sensory journey of an altered perception and a body that is transformed as well as the social environment; tone will be raw and fantasy-laden. It will unite the adrenaline of an operating room with the shadows of an old abandoned factory where brutal and elaborate rituals take place."

Rabe also noted that "Intra" draws inspiration from Polish film director Andrzej Zulawski, and will channel the body horror displayed by David Cronenberg. But Rabe insisted that the thriller format will be the "main narrative driver," the news outlet noted.

The Argentine director wrote the film's script, Variety further reported. Casting may include "Geminis" actress, Maria Abadi, for one of the three major roles.

In 2014, Rabe won Ventana Sur's Open Veins Best Picture Award for his debut, "Tejen," a movie about a young woman's atrophied body being reconstructed through a carefully crafted onirism, Variety noted. The flick also took home the Blood Window Kudo Award at last year's Mar del Plata Fest and an honorable mention at Portugal's 2015 Fantaspoa.

Rabe received a bachelor's degree in cinema and media arts at La Plata University with a focus on visual arts, drawing, concept art, and motion graphics, Variety added. His short films include "Surface Tension" and "In the Rabbit Hole." He also worked on the animated sequence in Adrián García Bogliano's "36 Steps" shown in 2006.

The filmmaker's material is focused on human behavior and personality, as well as the workings of the brain "explored via a singular imagination," the news outlet reported.
