After running into some troubles concerning Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates for the popular Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 handsets, French carrier SFR looks like it's back on track after releasing Android 4.3 for the Galaxy Note 2.

The update, software version N7100XXUEMK9_VFGEMK5_BUUEMK2, ran into some initial trouble when SFR announced it would have to delay the release of Android 4.3 for the Galaxy Note 2 until January due to technical hurdles. Lucky for Galaxy Note 2 owners on SFR, the carrier's made good on its promise, pushing out the upgrade just a few days in.

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update only applies to 3G models of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and can be grabbed over the air or through Samsung's KIES software. Software N7100XXUEMK9_VFGEMK5_BUUEMK2 is the fifth update for the device from SFR.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean contains the usual security and performance enhancements along with some other nifty features. For starters, Android 4.3 brings Bluetooth 4.0 LE support to the table, meaning SFR Galaxy Note 2s can finally fully connect with and interact with the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch. The upgrade also contains a number of new TouchWiz features previously only found on the newer Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 smartphones. SFR has also improved its TV application, the quality of voice service, and limited the maximum size of an MMS to 600KB.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is also expected to receive Android 4.4 KitKat, although not until later this year.
