Marvel has yet to begin filming of "Ant-Man and the Wasp" but excitement about the movie has increased since the "Ant-Man" mid-credits scene showing the big reveal of "The Wasp" suit surfaced online.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) flick of the shrinking superheroes is not yet due in theaters until 2018, but things are getting interesting by the minute as fans are treated to a DVD and Blu-ray version of "The Ant-Man" accompanied by a revelation of a minute-long clip of "The Wasp."

In the clip posted by JoBlo, Dr. Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas, finally allows his daughter, Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) to become "The Wasp" by presenting to her the suit that would give her the same ability as "Ant-Man."

After telling her that power cannot be eliminated but should instead protected from the wrong hands, he then makes the big reveal, leaving Hope speechless at first.

A wide smile then spreads over her face as she says what has become a famous quote in the MCU: "It's about damn time."

Check out the entire video below.

Cinema Blend claims that the popular words from Hope have a second meaning aside from the fact that the character had been begging for her father to allow her to help Paul Rudd's Ant-Man defeat the film's villain.

According to the outlet, Lilly's "about damn time" statement also refers to Marvel's apparent lack of emphasis on female superheroes in taking the lead in the MCU has remained male-led up until it reached its third phase.

After the release of "Ant-Man," it has become apparent that Lilly's character would be an equal to Rudd's as the sequel has been officially titled "Ant-Man and the Wasp."

And, upon their return to the silver screen for the second installment of the pint-sized hero action film, Collider got word that another actor would be reprising his role: Michael Douglas as Hank Pym.

In an interview with the outlet, the 71-year-old actor and producer revealed that he has been tapped to play the role of The Wasp's father.

"I just got a call recently -- they want to negotiate for a sequel and I thought 'that's great!'" he told the Collider.

He also listed actors that would be reappearing in the sequel including some that he thinks should be given a second break in the MCU.

"The cast was fantastic. Paul, Evangeline, Michael Pena -- I'm sure he'll be back. If they can scrape Corey Stoll off the wall, I'm sure they'll want him too -- he's such a good villain," he said.
