Good news Samsung Galaxy S3 owners on French carrier SFR's network: you can finally connect with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch as SFR has started pushing out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the popular smartphone.

SFR announced Thursday, Jan. 2, that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the 3G Samsung Galaxy S3 has started rolling out already, and that users should soon receive a download notification for software version I9300XXUGMK6_BUUGMK1_VFGGMK4. As with all Android updates, this one will release in batches, meaning not every Galaxy S3 on SFR will get it immediately. Still, it shouldn't take long before every Galaxy S3 owner on SFR gets a download notification.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean comes with the standard bells and whistles that a new Android version brings, including improvements to security and performance. The big inclusion, however, is Bluetooth 4.0 LE support that will allow the Galaxy S3 to fully connect and interact with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. The upgrade also brings a number of new TouchWiz features previously only available on the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3.

French carrier SFR is one of the last major carriers around the world to release Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S3. The update started rolling out in certain regions around the world in November, and all major U.S. carriers have released Android 4.3 for their respective Galaxy S3s. Australian carrier Telstra has yet to release the update.
