"Thor: Ragnarok" is taking unprecedented steps to set itself apart from other Marvel films as recent reports reveal that showrunners are aiming to cast an A-list actress for the flick's female main villain.

For once in the Marvel Cinematic Universe history, the dynamic duo of Thor Odinson and the Hulk would be facing a villainess who would present the biggest threat to those they wish to protect.

Since Valkyrie would be joining Thor and the Hulk in "Ragnarok," it seems a just move for the MCU to include their first female major villain in the mix.

According to Cinema Blend, rumors have been circulating that the new "Thor" movie would be having a female main antagonist and, though there seems to be no actress cast yet, that some names being thrown in the mix like Alice Eve and Cate Blanchett.

Based on a blog from Lainey Gossip, Blanchett may be a "big enough" actress to play the Mystery Villainess for Marvel. However, Cinema Blend this sounds more like "a dream casting" than a real possibility. While these have not been confirmed yet, the outlet already has a couple of ideas on which character Thor and his crew are set to face.

One of the outlet's best bet for the role of wreaking havoc in Asgard is the powerful and cunning Amora, the Enchantress. Like any other baddie, Amora decided to use her magical prowess for self-gain after becoming one of the most skilled magic users in all of Asgard.

"Enchantress is one of the few Thor villains who's worthy of succeeding Loki as the primary baddie. Whether she's the one who unleashes Ragnarok or is hatching something on the side, it's guaranteed she'll give the God of Thunder a run for his money," the report explained.
She has the ability to cast illusions, teleport from one place to another, shoot energy blasts and even seduce men into doing her bidding.

Among her victims and most loyal goons is the Executioner who, in the comics, followed the Enchantress' every demand in the hopes that she would return his love for her.

While Enchantress can most probably unleash Ragnarok, there are still other viable villainesses that can be tapped in the upcoming "Thor" movie.

Cinema Blend's other choices for the task include Hela, the Asgardian Goddess of Death; Bloodaxe, a blood-thirsty killing machine; and the sorceress Karnilla, the leader of the independent province of Nornheim.

Either way, all we can do is stay tuned for more information on this as the filming of the movie sets off next year as "Thor: Ragnarok" would hit the theaters in 2017.
