Hajime Isayama's "Attack on Titan" proved to be a success both in the silver screen and television as a new season for the manga-based anime is set for release on the second half of 2016.

According to Yibada, the animated series' second season is expected to see the light of day not earlier than mid-2016 based on a statement from Tetsuro Araki, the director Japanese anime.

This is because the manga-based show follows what was called as a "manga policy" that says there should be "at least four arcs" in the manga before the anime could proceed to another season.

According to the oulet, Tetsuro revealed that the anime's new season would be revolving around the transformation of more humans into "Titans."

Citing previous rumors, Christian Post explained that the show would also be tackling more of the uprising led by Eren Yeager, the lead character.

Furthermore, the outlet differentiated the storyline between the first and second seasons, saying: "Season 1 showed that he is capable of transforming into a Titan, but in season 2, a more advanced capability will be revealed as he will be able to control other Titans like him."

Christian Post also explained that politics would be a common theme in the anime's upcoming new season since it would be "one of the main factors that will affect Eren's cause," citing Yibada.

A quick recap from iSchool Guide explained how Titans destroyed most of the modern human world in decades past, forcing survivors to build massive walls to shield themselves the man-eating monsters.

Unfortunately, the gigantic monsters were able to tear through the walls and are again threatening to demolish what humanity has left.

After Eren Yeager's capability to transform into a Titan emerged, humanity saw a new hope something which would possibly became more evident in the upcoming season 2.

This is because the second season is expected to depict how other humans aside from Eren gain the ability to transform into a Titan who would most likely come from the 104th trainees squad composed of Eren, Mikasa Ackerman, Bertolt Hoover, Reiner Braun, Annie Leonhart, among others.

iSchool Guide noted that some fans of the manga "Shingeki no Kyojin," which is Japanese for "Attack on Titan," were confused at the difference between the anime and its source.

"Several background events were changed, and things like the relationship between characters modified and additionally, the non-existence of Captain Levi Ackerman attracts an unavoidable issue to the fans of the said first season of the 'Attack on Titan,'" the report explained.
