Pokémon X and Y Update Anime Spoilers: League Champion, Mega Evolution, Grant vs. Viola Confirmed for Future 'XY' Episodes [Video]

The "Pokémon the Series: XY" season has yet to debut in the United States but a preview on future episodes has aired in Japan with the appearance of the Kalos region's Pokémon League Champion.

In Japan, 11 episodes have premiered regarding the latest Pokémon season. Latino Post has reported on first batch of episodes, which can be viewed here.

A preview of 2014 episodes, airing first in Japan, has provided a glimpse of what fans of the franchise can expect.

A trailer of the upcoming "Pokémon the Series: XY" season aired with Ash Ketchum's Japanese voice narrating the video. The preview showed Sylveon and Froakie battling its evolution Frogadier, and Absol. Kalos Pokemon League Champion Diantha is also presented in the trailer during a segment hyping Mega Evolution.

An arc may also be on the way with a mysterious figure and her Malamar. It is unknown what the arc or the mysterious figure will play and if there are ties to Team Flare or Team Rocket.

Cyllage City Gym Leader Grant is also shown to have a battle against Santalune City Gym Leader Viola. It will be Onix vs. Surskit at the Battle Chateau. The prediction against Grant vs. Viola is a victory for the Cyllage City Gym Leader in order to present viewers that Grant is a powerful leader Ketchum has yet to battle.

In the U.S., "Pokémon the Series: XY" season, in its English dub, will debut on Jan. 18 at 8:30 a.m. EST.
