Arsenal got its much-needed win on Tuesday versus Bayern Munich to keep their Champions League hopes alive.

CNN reported that forward Olivier Giroud contributed the first goal of the match after he replaced Theo Walcott.

Then midfielder Mesut Ozil made another one on the 93rd minute of the game taking home a 2-0 victory against Bayern Munich.

It was noted in the CNN report that Arsenal obviously "reversed" its usual attack strategy in the make-or-break match that kept them alive in the Champions League campaign.

Giroud said his "crawling header" relieved their team.

"We did well until this goal, and we defended really well. We knew that Bayern Munich will have the ball because they are doing very well in possession," the French player explained in the CNN report.

He also recognized the fact that Bayen dominated the ball during the game but he said that Arsenal had the "passion" to finally succeed.

"We needed this win to stay in the Champions League run, to qualify for the next stage, we knew that it would be difficult but we have done it," added Giroud.

This is tagged to be a "superb victory" of Arsenal against one of the best teams in Europe, add it to the fact that they were almost at the verge of exiting the Champions League. The win has clearly raised the hopes of the players that they can still have a shot at the league.

Aside from the team's forward, ESPN noted that goalkeeper Peter Cech also made great saves during the game, contributing to his team's unforgettable victory.

Giroud agreed to this saying Chech had a fantastic game. "We are all pleased tonight, because we played against a fantastic team. That's nice for the future and for the following games. We need to keep the confidence high," he in the CNN report.

On the other hand, Football expert Charlie Nicholas discussed on a SkySports writeup Cech was able to display an "enormous" performance on Tuesday.

"He played him tonight and he's made four or five outstanding saves, all when the games was 0-0. It was enormous. Arsene Wenger won't admit it but Cech gives so much reassurance to everyone when he's making save after save. Arsenal can make mistakes and he'll still keep them in the game. That's what he did, and they ended up winning 2-0," added Nicholas.

But despite this victory, Telegraph noted that Arsenal is still at the bottom of the list in the league and their fans should not yet rejoice.
