NFL star Johnny Manziel has gotten himself in trouble again, this time in relation to a domestic incident involving him and his girlfriend after they were stopped by police in a highway during a confrontation on Monday.

ESPN said the Cleveland Browns quarterback was invited for questioning after he and girlfriend Colleen Elizabeth Crowley were seen arguing inside their car, which prompted authorities to stop them.

The couple reportedly admitted that they had some drinks earlier that day. No charges were filed as a result of the incident.

Details revealed by TMZ added that there were also motorists who complained that Manziel's vehicle was traveling very fast along Interstate 90.

"He pushed her head against the window -- and said she threw a wallet out of the window," added the same report.

An abrasion on Crowley's arm was reportedly noticed by the cops but ruled it as an effect of Manziel trying to control her from stepping out of the car while it was traveling.

In a post on his Twitter account, Manziel admitted their mistake tagged it as an "embarrassing" act.

"Colleen and I got into a dumb public argument on the way home Monday afternoon. It probably looked more interesting than it was and I know I would stop and check if I saw a couple arguing on the side of the road. It was embarrassing but not serious and when we talked to the police and they realized everything was alright and I was sober, we went home together and everything is fine," read Manziel's tweet.

Crowley also issued a statement on her Instagram account saying that things between her and Manziel "are good.

"I appreciate the people who stopped to check on us and call the police, I could see how it may have looked. Anytime anyone sees a guy and a girl arguing on the side of the road they should definitely stop, you never know what that could be. Fortunately it was just an argument, it was private, and we are all good," she furthered.

Meanwhile, Cleveland Brown general manager Ray Farmer said that he has already been made aware of the situation.

"It is a matter that we take seriously and have expressed our concerns to Johnny directly. Those conversations will remain private and we will refrain from further comment at this time," he added in a statement quoted by ESPN.

The team has also assured that Manziel's status on the upcoming game on Sunday will not be affected by the incident. However, the team vowed to initiate an investigation if the player needs to be sanctioned.

Manziel earlier submitted himself to a 10-week rehabilitation session due to alcohol abuse. When he came back, he promised to be a better man and NFL player.

Well, it looks like there are still a lot of bumps on the road.
