AMC's "The Walking Dead" is bigger than ever in its sixth season, and even though few shows manage to get such a buzz this late in their course, the zombie apocalyptic series managed to do so, by keeping itself grounded in its core principles.

True, "The Walking Dead" is without its challenges, but the 90-minute premiere has shown that the show has at least changed it up a bit, by what The Hollywood Reporter said is an epic plot move. Here are some things that we can expect to happen this season:

1) We will see the return of Morgan James, a fan-favorite character who serves as a guidepost for the series. While still a bit of a mystery, Morgan is effectively used by the show as the man who clings to what's left of humanity.

2) Carl is noticeably missing and never even mentioned in the season six premiere, making people wonder what exactly is going on. The show did seem to point out that there's a major loss, however, they identity of that person is still a mystery, so it may or may not be Chandler Riggs's character.

3) Fans can expect more zombies, and by that they mean a whole lot more: according to actor Andrew Lincoln via Broadway World, "The zombie count is the biggest we've ever had. This season, in just six episodes, we've had 2,500 zombies."Well, that should be expected. iO9 noted that in the second half of the season premiere alone, there are already thousands of those undead monsters in the quarry Rick and the Alexandrians discovered.

4) Melissa McBride's Carol, who is the only female character left on the show at this point, is going to see her character grow. The actress said, "[Carol]'s now got the courage to do things that she may have only thought of in her mind back before any of this started. Like the other women in the show, she's complex. She's very sensitive, she has feelings and at the same time she's empowering, strong and brave."

5) Then there's the possibility of wolves being in the show, just to make it more interesting. Sure, the horn sounded, but there hasn't been any sightings of wolves --- yet. But whatever the case, things don't look good for the people left behind.

"The Walking Dead" is emphasizing zombies this season, which is as it should be. But as Forbes said, the premiere episode for this season is essentially a war on philosophies between Rick and Morgan, and what it takes to survive. Until then, there's the next episode to look forward to.
