Sofia Vergara commends Emilio Estefan's new song "We're All Mexican" for its success in unifying Hispanics.

In an interview on Wednesday to promote the Ninja Coffee Bar, the "Modern Family" actress said that it is important to celebrate and recognize the contributions of the Latino community to the U.S.

"I think it's great. I think it's beautiful to unite with people and to fight for a cause and represent a cause," Vergara said, as quoted by Billboard. "It's a fun thing to do to come together and help other people."

Estefan unveiled the official music video for "We Are All Mexican" on Monday in time for Hispanic Heritage Month. The racist and xenophobic statements against Mexicans inspired Estefan to create the single.

"We have so many problems, and they are talking about Mexicans being rapists and killing people. That wasn't right," the music producer told Fox News Latino. "We love this country. We don't take things for granted."

Vergara, 43, also talked about how the situation improved for Latino actors and actresses ever since she first got in show business.

"Twenty years ago I started in Univision, and things have changed a lot. It's easier now to make a crossover," the Colombian bombshell explained, as reported by Billboard. "There are so many more opportunities; there are so many more scripts that have been written for Latin people. There's definitely doors opening every day. We hope that there's more material written for Latin people, but I think we shouldn't complain. Things are getting better."

Plenty of Hispanic celebrities were recruited by Estefan for the song, including Thalia, Carlos Santana, Pepe Aguilar, Shakira, Wyclef Jean, reggaeton artist Wisin, radio personality Enrique Santos, Spanish-American chef José Andrés, and his wife, singer Gloria Estefan, a separate report from Billboard listed.

The music video also featured cameos from famous names and TV personalities, such as comedians Kathy Griffin and Whoopi Goldberg and actors Eva Longoria, Amaury Nolasco, Carlos Ponce, Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias, and Kate del Castillo, Fox News Latino wrote. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and Guillermo Rodriguez from "Jimmy Kimmel Live" also had appearances.

Estefan noted that the song is about the immigrants' "love affair" with the U.S. and not about politics or Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, Fox News Latino noted. According to its description on YouTube's Estefan Channel, "We're All Mexican" symbolizes how racism and bigotry can happen to any race, not just to Mexicans.

"Even though we come from different countries, we feel the same things," Estefan said, as quoted by the news outlet. "[We] make great contributions to this country. We just want to be recognized and to say, 'Thank you.'"
