Circulating rumors reveal a reprising character from the original saga in the next "Star Wars: Episode VIII" due in theaters in 2017.

While the "Star Wars: Force Awakens" has yet to reach its release date this December, several outlets are already watching out for updates about the succeeding episode of the epic franchise.

In fact, a recent report from Cinema Blend reveals that one of the well-loved original characters of the franchise is expected to return for yet another adventure in the land far, far away.

According to the outlet, one of the returning characters in the "Force Awakens" which includes Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia, Harrison Ford's Han Solo and Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker would also appear in "Episode VIII" under the direction of helmer Rian Johnson.

"While there have been rumors and speculation and we don't know the precise roles they will play, we do now know that at least one of them will be back for director Rian Johnson's Star Wars: Episode VIII in 2017," the report read.

Past rumors revealed that the next Star Wars episode would be shot in the jaw-dropping picturesque Irish isle of Skellig Michael, something a report from the Irish Examiner confirmed.

In fact, the outlet spotted one of the original cast members on his way to the set of the 2017 Star Wars film in the stunning world heritage site: Mark Hamill.

Together with his son Nathan, Hamill was seen preparing for the journey to the place, presumably to shoot scenes for "Episode VIII."

While this can be categorized as a mere rumor as of the moment, Cinema Blend notes that it fits other rumors perfectly particularly those that explain a plotline for the "Force Awakens."

"One of the story elements that we've heard repeatedly, from multiple sources, is that Luke Skywalker is missing and much of the plot revolves around locating him," the report read.

According to these rumors that the outlet cited, Luke would be found near a sort of temple guarding an ancient evil from being released into the galaxy they hope to protect.

The outlet explained that the location fits the prevailing logic considering that the locale was home to a Christian monastery that was built sometime between the 6th and 8th centuries.

Should this be the case, Cinema Blend notes, it goes without saying that Skellig Michael would most probably be featured again in the following Star Wars movie.

But as usual, the audience would have to wait until the actual "Force Awakens" is release on December 18, 2015 to speculate more about this exciting revelation.
