New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady seems to be returning some love to one of his greatest supporters, businessman and presidential candidate Donald Trump.

A Twitter post of Barstool Sports writer John Feitelberg showed a photo of the quarterback's locker where Trump's "Make America Great Again" was spotted.

According to Boston.com, this was the same hat used by the politician and business mogul during his campaign.

In reaction to this, Trump's spokesperson Hope Hicks told CNN that they were not surprised with the discovery.

"It's well documented that Mr. Trump and Tom have a great friendship and have for many years," she added.

Trump has also personally spoke of his support for Brady, who recently got cleared from his four-game suspension from the NFL in relation to the "Deflategate" issue.

In siding with Brady with the decision last week, U.S. District Judge Richard Berman said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell went to great lengths to punish Brady, as reported by ESPN.

This was despite the NFL player's claim that he had no hand in the deflated footballs during the AFC Championship Game versus the Indianapolis Colts.

Berman also said that the league did not notify potential penalties in advance, refused to produce a key witness and tried to discipline a player based on the wrongdoing of somebody else.

On his Twitter account, the business mogul congratulated Brady for his victory and tagged him as "my friend and a total winner.

When the quarterback was slapped with the suspension Trump said on his Twitter account that there was not enough proof to prove his guilt.

"They had no definitive proof against Tom Brady or #patriots. If Hillary doesn't have to produce Emails, why should Tom? Very unfair! People are so jealous of Tom Brady and the Patriots. No court could convict based on the evidence. They can't beat him on the field, so this!" he added.

The presidential candidate also questioned why people always try to destroy genuine champions like Brady "while at the same time leaving the losers alone? STUPID!"

Despite Brady's appeal victory, Goodell has maintained that the league was right in giving him the suspension.

"The commissioner's responsibility to secure the competitive fairness of our game is a paramount principle, and the league and our 32 clubs will continue to pursue a path to that end," the NFL commissioner said in an earlier statement.

ESPN noted that the league appealed the decision to the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan, the same day Berman released his decision.
