The highly successful LG G4 is going to get a successor next year and it has been reported that it will compete with other top-end smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note 6, iPhone 7, LG G Flex among others.

Although the specs have not been confirmed yet, there are a lot of speculations that have revolved around the upcoming model, including that it is expected to have an upgraded version of pretty much everything from the G4, such as wireless charging. 4K Ultra high definition display, a larger screen, 20-megapixel camera capacity, possible retina eye scanner and quite possibly a 3D camera.

Here are the other specs and features as noted by Vine Report and Venture Capital Post:

It will boast of an impressive 6" Sapphire metal casing which will give it a more sleek and stylish look that also serves as the phone's protection. The metal work is also indicative of its supposedly improved wireless charging.

Under the hood is Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Chipset with Octa-Core at 2.9 GHz processor or possibly, the Snapdragon 820, and running on the new Android Marshmallow OS.

It will come with built-in memory in three base capacity options: 16, 32 and 64 GB which are all expandable via microSD card slot of that can support up to 128GB of data.

This is especially useful considering that the phone is rumored to have a 20-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, giving it the ability to capture 1080p videos at 120fps, and even possible -- a 4K video at 60fps (which is really great, as far as phones go).

On the other hand, its front camera is expected to sport an 8-megapixel sensor, similar to its previous version.

Meanwhile, the battery is expected to have a massive 4,000mAh, which means that it can last longer than other smartphones out in the market.

For those who want more variety, good news: the phone is reportedly offered in six colors, black, white, gold, copper, blue and pink.

To compare it with its predecessor, the LG G4 has a 5.5-inch screen display with a high quality 2K resolution, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, and is equipped with a stunning 16-megapixel back shutter and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Storage-wise, it supports a vast amount of phone data with its internal 32GB memory with microSD card support.

Although there is no confirmed news yet, the LG G5 is expected to arrive in March or June next year, priced at $800 to $900.

LG hasn't commented regarding these rumors yet, which means that for now, they are to be taken lightly until official news are released.
