This Thursday evening, the Hollywood boulevard in Los Angeles dressed up to welcome Boricua actress Jennifer Lopez, who unveiled her very own star on the legendary Walk of Fame.

The 2,500th star on the Walk of Fame is a milestone star that was reserved to honor someone with a stellar career and is a recognition to thePuerto Rican artist's work in music and movies.

The Fashion icon was at a loss of words. "Somebody has my bag and it has my speech in it", she said. "I'm just taking in the moment. Sometimes it takes me a minute. I really am overwhelmed".

Her fans, who were chanting her name, came at the top of the list of people she wanted to thank.

Friends in the industry that helped launch her career, like Gregory Nava, Keenen Ivory and her manager Benny Medina were present to express their proud sentiments about the Bronx native diva. Other dignitaries attending were singer Pitbull, actress Jane Fonda and former American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe.

The actress looked stunning in a very old-Hollywood fashion choice, wearing a full coral hi-lo maxi skirt and white tee, paired with killer black pumps. Fighting back tears, the "If You Had My Love " singer thanked her fans and colleagues.

"I love you, thank you so much for going on this journey with me", she said. "This landmark moment inspires me to work harder and dream bigger for all that is the future. I hope you feel as I do that it was all worth it, and I hope that I have touched your hearts even in a small way".

This is another milestone for the 43 year-old star, who began her career as a dancer on the Fox sketch comedy series "In Living Color" and has now become a global brand, not only as a singer and actress, but also as an entrepreneur in the fashion world and fragrances business.

Lopez has sold more than 70 million records worldwide in recording career that began in 1999 with the release of the single "If You Had My Love", which reached top of the charts in the U.S. and five other nations.

The "girl from the block" will return soon to the big screen alongside Spanish actor Antonio Banderas with the film The 33, a drama that evokes the events experienced by the miners buried for more than two months at a mine in northern Chile.
