The highly-anticipated Microsoft Surface Pro 4, including new Lumia smartphones, are now expected to be unveiled in less than two months, along with the introduction of Windows 10 for mobile.

As told by PC World, there is no definite date for the said event, but speculations have eyed the month of October.

"That's when Microsoft reportedly has an event planned to unveil a slew of new hardware, including two new Lumia phones, the Surface Pro 4, and a second iteration of the Microsoft Band," the outlet noted.

Phone Arena added that the "grand event" in October will also include the announcement of a Mini variant of its Xbox One console.

On the other hand, The Verge said the main focus of the launch will be the Surface Pro 4 and new Lumia handsets -- the Lumia 950 (Talkman) and Lumia 950 XL (Cityman).

Windows Central previously reported that the names of the two Lumia devices have been debated ever since. The outlet added that the final names will be decided by September.

FirstPost highlighted that the two smartphones will have Qi wireless charging and an infrared scanner "that will unlock the device in seconds" after a scan of the user's face.

Wireless charging, on the other hand, will be capable of transmitting power to a receiver in a portable device. This, reportedly, uses a system which charges devices using resonant inductive coupling.

The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL could each cost $600 and $650 respectively, as per TheRem.

As for the new Surface Pro, CrossMap has learned that the Surface Pro 4 will be released in three variants: one with a 14-inch display, another with a 12-inch display and another with an 8-inch display. The third one is expected to go head-to-head with Apple's iPad Mini.

The upcoming device is also rumored to come with an N-Trig surface pen. According to Digital Trends, this stylus pen writes "very smoothly and the tablet responds to every line in record time."

A similar Gospel Herald report added that the Surface Pro 4 will have a 64GB in-built storage, with expandable memory of up to 128 GB, 256 GB and 500 GB, and will cost between $880 and $1990.

All these information are best taken with healthy pinches of salt until Microsoft provides confirmation.
