Stephanie Sigman, the first Mexican Bond girl, has signed up for a role in the second season of ABC's "American Crime."

The actress, who has been cast in a recurring role, will work alongside returning cast members Felicity Huffman, Timothy Hutton, Regina King, Lili Taylor, Richard Cabral, and Elvis Nolasco, TV Line listed. Season 2 will also showcase new faces: André Benjamin, Joey Pollari, and Connor Jessup.

Sigman will portray the character of Monica Ava, an administrator at an Indianapolis public school whose "loyalties and values are put into conflict as she's faced with systemic bias within the school system," Variety wrote.

Aside from her role in "Spectre" as Estrella, Sigman, 28, previously starred in the 2011 Academy Award nominated flick "Miss Bala" and in 2013's "Pioneer." Her work in television includes FX's "The Bridge" and in Netflix's upcoming crime drama series "Narcos," which tells the story of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, the news outlet added. Sigman is also a former fashion model, Entertainment Weekly wrote.

"One can't watch 'Miss Bala' without coming away with a total appreciation of Stephanie's ability to literally hold the frame," said "American Crime" executive producer John Ridley of Sigman, as quoted by Variety.

He continued, "She is so finely accomplished, and we're amazingly fortunate that she's decided to come directly from a project as substantial as the new Bond film to work with us on something as observant as 'American Crime.' We continue to build the cast, and that really is testament to the work and commitment of all the actors and artisans with whom we've had the opportunity to work on this program."

Season 2 of "American Crime" will have a midseason premiere on ABC, Variety wrote. The upcoming episodes will take place in Indiana, where a public high school boy accuses a basketball team of an elite private school of sexually assaulting him, as well as taking photos of him and posting them on the Internet, TV Line wrote.

The first season of "American Crime" bagged 10 nominations for the upcoming 67th Primetime Emmy Awards, a separate report from Variety noted. The award recognition the series got was the highest number out of any broadcast network.
